— Commemorating the 60th Anniversary of Shintaido —

In 2025, Tenshinkai celebrates a major milestone: the 60th anniversary of the founding of Shintaido.
This year’s Autumn Retreat marks a special opportunity to reflect on the roots and evolution of Tenshin Taido, and to deepen the practices that will carry us into the next generation.

Tenshin Taido, founded by Hiroyuki Aoki, is a unique path of integrated physical and spiritual development. It seeks to restore the body’s natural state and unlock its inherent life force. Through practice, participants aim to harmonize mind, body, and energy (ki), and to encounter a deeper, more authentic self in communion with the natural world.

Tenshinkai offers a wide range of practices, including Kenbu Tenshin-ryu, Tenshin Juso, Shintaido and the Tenshin Lectures, with a growing community of practitioners around the world walking this path together.

This year’s retreat will be held at Namikawasou, located on Kujukuri Beach in Chiba Prefecture. Surrounded by the soothing sound of the Pacific Ocean, this is a rare opportunity to step away from the demands of daily life and immerse yourself in focused training and heartfelt connection.

Structure of the Retreat (2025)

Pre-Retreat (Friday, October 10)
This session is designed for instructors of Tenshin Juso, Kenbu Tenshin-ryu and Shintaido as well as coordinators from regional dojos. It serves as a space for technical refinement and mutual learning, aimed at enhancing the quality of instruction and fostering the next generation of leaders.

Main Retreat (Saturday, October 11 – Sunday, October 12)
This is the central part of the retreat and is open to both members and non-members. It is structured to accommodate all levels of practitioners—from beginners to advanced—and offers two days of intensive practice in nature, providing an opportunity to harmonize and deepen the mind and body.
※A grading session for overseas members is scheduled for the afternoon of Sunday, October 12.

Post-Retreat (Monday, October 13 – Tuesday, October 14) [One-night, two-day]
This retreat is intended for carefully reviewing and internalizing the teachings from the main retreat through focused practice.
Anyone is welcome to join, but it is especially designed for participants from regional or overseas areas who have limited access to training at the headquarters. We invite you to spend this quiet time by the seaside to reflect inwardly and deepen your own journey.
